Our History
The historic St. Lukes' Episcopal church was moved in 1896 from Dungeness to Washington Avenue in Sequim.
In April 1996 this old church had to be moved again to make way for the new street in downtown Sequim.  Upon the completion of the new St. Luke's' Episcopal church on 5th Avenue the City of Sequim offered the historic church to someone who would move it.  This offer was too good to pass up for Jack and Helga McGhee.  So in April 1996 they moved the church to its current location and set about remodeling it and looking for a tenant.

Jean's Deli was started in 1985 in Carlsborg, Washington.  The Deli enjoyed a fabulous reputation for great soups, sandwiches and homemade pies and desserts for 11 years.  In 1996 Jean's deli moved from Carlsborg to its present location.

In February 2005 Jean retired and Michael and Barbara Lippert bought the deli.  We have enjoyed  serving our customers and meeting new folks that came to enjoy what we have to offer.  While we have maintained the "old favorites" we added some menu items that customers have come to enjoy.

August 7, 2009 we transitioned this historic deli from what our loyal customers have come to know us from a breakfast and lunch to a lunch and dinner.  While lunch has remained the same we hope that you will find Lipperts' a place for a conversation, a point of discussion, and a new aroma to stretch your palette to a new level. Unfortunately the economy did not support Brian's dream.

September 2011 chef Brian moved from Sequim to California to continue his Culinary Education and further his career.  We now have returned to serving Breakfast and Lunch.

May you meals here be like "a Little Taste of Heaven".
